Their story
Alice's maiden name was Katzka. A 1950 Brooklyn marriage-license index pairs Alice Katzka with Jerome Adesman, MD. She and Dr. Jerome raised three sons: Dr. Peter, Dr. Michael, and Dr. Andrew. [F2] [F4] [S31]
Alice helped build LaGuardia Community College's early enrollment. The college's institutional history identifies her as director of admissions and credits recruitment under her leadership with broadening the second entering class in September 1972. In December 1985, the Rhode Island Herald reported that Alice had taken a year's leave from her role overseeing admissions and international students at LaGuardia. She was coordinating a New York Association for New Americans project that helped older refugees find work through language instruction, vocational guidance, and training in Brooklyn and the Bronx.
